LH/LX F: ORD-BKK sub $4,000 RT

Shows up on Google Flights for sample dates July 12-23, 2021. The calendar view shows $6k price but once you select the LH or LX flights from the list below, the price drops.

I am getting only LX flights ORD-BKK, not seeing any LH. On top of that the ~$4K seems to be for a OTA, LX site prices it at $7K+

I wonder if it's an OTA fare mapping error. $3,500-$4,000 is the standard LH group P fare (discount business) for US - Asia.

Hmm. Another sample: https://www.google.com/travel/flights/s/7J5M

LH outbound, LX return, all in F. The booking options at the bottom of the page says Gotogate or Flightnetwork. Haven't heard of either.

Gotogate is incredibly sketchy. It was a nightmare getting a refund after the TAP reduced fare debacle earlier this year.

Your link comes back as fare unavailable. I think it is a glitch since LH doesn't even have F to BKK. Did you mean BKK-ZRH-FRA-ORD?

Yep, this is one reason I did not dare to book the above.

Appears to be glitches indeed. And good to know to avoid Gotogate. Thanks all!

Used gotogate before. No hiccup. Though I didn't make changes to my ticket.
Got all my miles too.

I agree still waiting for my refund from the BNE-AMS fare, gotogate is the worse OTA

well to be fair, I haven’t heard back from Tap either and i booked directly with them. It’s not like airlines are much better tbh

For the love of god if you're going to be spending 4000+ on an airline ticket do not book through an OTA.

Gotogate is fantastic. Used them dozens of times and never had a single issue. Sorry you have had problems but in fairness people have been struggling with covid related refunds even on flights booked direct with airlines

Even if it saves $3k over booking direct?

Pre-pandemic, yes of course I'll use an OTA to save $$$$. However, in these times I will not risk dealing with an OTA that is a nightmare to get your refund as the case is here. In this case, I will simply forgo these fares.

Not to mention the 14 day quarantine requirement.
