This is GREAT! I just booked us to Destin nonstop from Midway for week over July 4th.
Was this known to be coming at some point or is this a complete surprise? I had no idea whatsoever and am glad I held off booking our usual flights which are either to ECP or PNS with a connection.

I guess the financial incentives that ECP offered to effectively keep WN out of VPS finally expired.
While I’m pretty sure Delta will remain my primary carrier I always love seeing more airlines and more competition at the airport 20 minutes down the road and it makes burning the Southwest points in my stash a more attractive option than driving to ECP or PNS.

I booked BZN for the summer, I went back to Glacier last summer via FCA with the intention of going back to Yellowstone and Grand Teton this summer so it worked out for me.

I'm now trying to figure out where they'll putt the planes at VPS in the short term since I can't see the Legacy 3 giving up upstairs gate space and the terminal expansion isn't supposed to be finished until fall. I'm guessing it will probably be some sort of temporary space at ground level in the Allegiant corral until construction is complete.
VPS seemed to be operating at about 120% capacity in the summer of 2019 and if domestic traffic comes back strongly this summer like some think it might, it's going to be chaos in July and August. I'm glad I've got Pre-check.
