241 Extension -baby on board

Hello

Mrs nollag has an Amex 241 due to expire in the Summer. We had originally planned to take a winter break to Faro in Feb, but that flight was cancelled due to Covid

She is now pregnant, so she wont be flying anywhere for the next while.

We have already had the 6 months extension. What are the odds on a further general 6 month extension? Otherwise, is it worth calling up to plead a special exception?

Thanks

Just book a flight to anywhere - £17.50 each - few Avios, then cancel to an FTV. Your 241 will then be valid to April 2022

Loads more info on the main 241 thread BA American Express companion voucher | master thread

And the FTV threads

Rebooking with e-voucher
Book with confidence policy

This is a great tip!

Just checked my Sep 2019 issued 241 voucher and it's been extended again to 30 Apr 2022.

Or for even less cash than that, if you can find a route that qualifies!

The Feb flight to Faro was booked using a 241 voucher. When BA cancelled the flight, and I called for a refund, they just reissued the 241 with its original expiry date. Should I have done something differently?

In same position here, have a companion voucher which was originally used for LAS last easter, cancelled. Rebooked for SAN/LAX this coming April, but cancelled due to pregnancy (due in June) and rebooked again for DXB (supposed to be there this week), but cancelled due to restrictions.

The companion voucher in her name expires in June, so unlikely to use now, so will likely have to go down the Book/Cancel/FTV route to extend to April '22, but waiting to see if they just extend the voucher expiry date first before doing anything nearer expiry.

Haven't heard of voucher extensions due to pregnancy, only the BAEC 1 year extension but think that wont be a go-er given we've all got a 12 month extension already?
