Anyone have success with shipped or emailed giftcards at https://gifts.marriott.com ?
So far I used my card at JW in Rio and was not reimbursed nor seemed to get the 6x the card is supposed to give me. Probably need to call to rectify.

I brought a physical gift card with my then SPG LUXE card and got my credit within a few days (less than 1 week). In fact, I did this twice - once at a Courtyard and once at a Springhill Suite for $200 each (there was another promotion where I get $40 credit for spending $200)

Keep in mind that some Marriott properties overseas are franchise operations, and the credit card charge might have the name of the local hotel operator, not Marriott, Sheraton, etc. As a result, the system does not code properly as 6x, and the credit does not work. Happened to me in South America last year. The charge showed up as a third-party company that turned out to be the name of the franchise hotel operator. It took a call to Amex, and the rep said they could offer the points as a "one-time goodwill gesture." I guess I won't be staying at that property again.

Recently took advantage of the upgrade offer for the $95 AmEx SPG to the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card.
I stayed at a Springhill Suites with checkout on Thursday, March 21st. $300 credit posted 2 days later.
