Marriott Brilliant $300 hotel credit replaced by $25/month dining in Sept 2022.

I searched and didn't see a thread. If missed please merge or delete.

Anyone have success with shipped or emailed giftcards at https://gifts.marriott.com ?

So far I used my card at JW in Rio and was not reimbursed nor seemed to get the 6x the card is supposed to give me. Probably need to call to rectify.

Finally got reimbursed from my Rio trip. Took about 2.5 weeks. I did bring it up with chat but he said I will just have to wait and said he couldn't do anything. Lo and behold he was right.

I made a purchase for 25+1 shipping gift card and it initially coded as MARRIOTT GIFT CARDS.

Will see what happens.

I brought a physical gift card with my then SPG LUXE card and got my credit within a few days (less than 1 week). In fact, I did this twice - once at a Courtyard and once at a Springhill Suite for $200 each (there was another promotion where I get $40 credit for spending $200)

Maybe bring it up in chat. Perhaps my guy lied and he actually did something.

I bought a shipped gift card of a little more than $200, plus $1 shipping. It got reimbursed 3 days later.

I called into Amex and the rep was able to manually apply the credit.

Keep in mind that some Marriott properties overseas are franchise operations, and the credit card charge might have the name of the local hotel operator, not Marriott, Sheraton, etc. As a result, the system does not code properly as 6x, and the credit does not work. Happened to me in South America last year. The charge showed up as a third-party company that turned out to be the name of the franchise hotel operator. It took a call to Amex, and the rep said they could offer the points as a "one-time goodwill gesture." I guess I won't be staying at that property again.

Recently took advantage of the upgrade offer for the $95 AmEx SPG to the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card.

I stayed at a Springhill Suites with checkout on Thursday, March 21st. $300 credit posted 2 days later.
