Why don't lists show correctly?

Why don't lists show correctly?
If a set up a nicely formatted list in the create message dialog, it always comes out un-formatted when posted. For example :-
  • List part 1
  • List part 2
  • List part 3
  • List part 4

How are you making the list?
  • Testing
  • Highlighting
  • And
  • Clicking
  • List button
Do you just mean that you lose the indent? Is that all?

Yes - you lose the indent and the correct spacing between the lines.

Post 1 looks OK to me
Selecting "source" when editing can help. Can then force a few more long hand basic formatting options. (like we used to have)
