Virgin going freight only

...from the 21st April for at least six days.

Hoping against hope that there will be some light at the end of the tunnel by then.

VS won't survive this storm... look at covid-19 in the USA. That will be a massacre. It's not even the beginning....

it is well known that it is more profitable to fly a pound of freight than a pound of flesh.
Freight only flight would save on a crew of FAs plus other pax related flight costs.

Air freight costs have risen significantly due to limited space on limited flights. I am happy to see VS doing this, though I doubt it will bring the current costs down, because it means money for the company and more opportunities for air freight to fly.
Plus, freight doesn't care about things like IFE, meals, seat recline...

Also, there are pre and post-flight cost of a pax flight that are not necessary for a freight-only flight. Holding tanks servicing comes to mind.
