Xiamen Air has generous stopover policies and here's an example of utilization on google flights>>
LAX-Xiamen-Melbourne-Xiamen-LAX, all legs on Xiamen lie-flat Boeing 787
also works if depart within China, for example Changsha-Hangzhou-Melbourne-Hangzhou-Changsha, all legs in business class for $1253, google flights>>

Can only imagine the amount of money Chinese carriers are losing from int'l passengers avoiding travel. First the HK riots and now a deadly virus. Not great marketing. Would think some pretty amazing deals are going to have to be offered soon if the carriers want to maintain any load factor.

This is the "normal" price on this route... Basically the flights don't have decent connections so you have a pretty long layover and therefore a lower price...
Also allows you to connect via YVR but still horrible hours...
