Have I had a secret upgrade to Club Europe?
I preselected 5A but now row 5 isn't showing on my LCY flight but I haven't had my seat moved? If it was an increase in Club Europe I would normally see a seat change.
Maybe I'll get a cheeky free upgrade. 😉

Either you're moving or the curtain is, or you'll get a totally unrelated op-up on the day. However you spin it, I'd try to grab an acceptable economy seat first. I'd already have been in 12B though, even though it's not that much bigger on the Embraers.

Thanks all, I would have moved if the flight was looking busy but as all seats good leg room and they board from front and rear I wasn't too fussed about changing seats.
I might just play it out and see what happens 😁

there is absolutely nothing odd or unusual in the sequence you describe,it happens to me at least once a month always when curtain changes happen in the last 3 days. And it never results in a secret upgrade’ (ie upgrades can of course happen if flight is overbooked but keeping ghost allocation doesn’t change your priority one bit.

As others have said, if you wait what will happen is that you will likely end up in one of the least desirable seats on the plane - best get yourself allocated to a seat in the Y cabin quickly if you want to be able to choose by yourself.
