Light loads lead to lazy crew?
Does anyone else find that service in Club World is much better when the flight is busy rather then not?
On a recent flight where Club World was only 25% full the service was so sketchy. Nothing proactive at all, everything had to be from a bell or a visit to the galley. Even the meal service took 90 minutes to start and even then they missed out taking orders from everyone.
I would expect it to be better service with lighter loads. I have experienced this on three flights in the last six months. Are the crew less motivated when the loads are low?

My limited experience tends to go this way, especially flying eastbound TATL from the West coast. But as I said, limited experience, not empirical measurements... And it was disappointing service, not lazy crews I don't think.

I've experienced this with a number of times, especially with American carriers. It's the same paradox that means you often get poorer service in a nearly empty restaurant. But occasionally, you end up with brilliant crew who view a near-empty cabin as an opportunity to deliver an amazing experience.

A while back
LHR to BOM, club world had only 7 passengers.. I know hard to believe
Service from the crew was great, even though I was the only passenger towards the back of the club cabin.

Is it "lazy" crew, or just crew taking the opportunity for a bit of rest, or even helping out elsewhere on the plane?. Whatever it is/was, Service standards should not decline. All down to the CSD/CSM.

Funnily enough the least best crew I've had on any BA flight was in F on a SYD-SIN sector where the cabin was less than half full. Maybe the all male F crew had been partying too much in Sydney and needed a rest?

Unlikely as crew party in Singapore not Sydney. Much more likely due to exhaustion due to flight times and circadian rhythms.
