Churning Platinum Cards

Does anyone churn platinum cards. Ie. get the plat personal, then the plat bus, then the plat Goldman Sachs, then the plat Schwab, etc..?

Do you close one before you open the other?
Can you keep one open without closing the other and still receive the SUB?

Yes (many people do this.) I'm currently on my third different "flavor" of Plat.

I've closed the previous one shortly after opening the successor.

Yes - they are considered separate products and thus you can receive the SUB for each despite having/have one of the other flavors.

I actually churned the amerprise platinum in past years when it was free for the first year. Just cancelled and then waited a few weeks and opened a new one.

Not only that, it's been discontinued:

Thank you. I'm prowling around over here as I'm considering AMEX Platinum when I drop my AA Citi MC next month.

Ameriprise customer service sucks anyway. They wanted to charge for the second card holder even though terms said first one was free.

Personal, Business, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.

I have the impression that the Goldman card is for employees, but I do not know why I think that. In any event we have near zero information about it.

WRT Goldman Sachs, as I recall from researching out of curiosity some time ago, I believe the card is offered to customers with a private banking relationship and a minimum of $10 million in assets held at GS. Additionally, the card is available to GS employees as well, but without the $10 million asset requirement.

Of course, anyone putting $10 million to work at GS, in high cost investments, just to get a Amex Platinum card would have to be out of their minds, but that is a different thread...

Seems like that would have been a good one to get once and dump quick.
