Cannot Use UA Economy Plus Subscription After Booking Aeroplan Flight Award
This week I booked two separate reward itineraries via Aeroplan for standard economy trips on United flights using United aircraft. I have a global United Economy Plus subscription and in the past have been able to access itineraries such as this on my United account. When I try to do this now, the United site will not let me enter my UA FF number so I am unable to use my E+ subscription, UA tells me it is because my AP account number is the FF # on the booking and cannot be changed. I've done this in the past (as recent as March of this year), no issues - has something changed?

I called UA for a third time, ad the reservations desk, working with the Mileage Plus department, was able to take care of this and provice the Economy Plus upgrade -- but not after asking me to provide the ticket/document number from the credit card charge when I subscribed back in February (?)
It appears that at some point in the last six months, Aeroplan started inserting the Aeroplan account number into the reservation for the primary ticketholder, and once the ticket is booked, United or any other airline cannot modify the ticket and insert the actual operating airline FF# into the res, even if they are operating their own aircraft on their flight. Now that UA genrously helped out on my pressing issue, I will follow up with this week Aeroplan to sort this out for future bookings.
