Last year they went from 53 to 47 flights a week so only reinstating half of what they cut.

KARFA, the copy and pasted release has the new EDI-LGW and GLA-LGW flight numbers mixed up. It should be the opposite of what they have been put in their release. GLA flights currently are BA2953 to BA2968.

There must be more short haul reductions to be announced? Otherwise where have all these slots and aircraft come from?

It would be much better if they added a few flights from Aberdeen to Gatwick instead.

In terms of a Gatwick flight again, oh absolutely. Just had this conversation today funnily enough. I wonder if the economics would stack up for BA to reinstate semi regular flights? Meantime we're contemplating driving Aberdeen to Edinburgh to fly to Gatwick and connect to a long haul flight; bags checked right through, avoid schlepping round the M25 from Heathrow...

14 a week from ending Kiev and St Petersburg. But that doesn’t account for all of the above by any stretch.

Edit:- also 2 a week from Gran Canaria going to Gatwick and one from the Jeddah change noted above.

The schedules for some routes do not make sense. Take Zagreb, on the days they operate 2 flight, they are only 20min apart. They are clearly slot sitters. They could have been used new destinations or other routes. It also puzzles me that BA only flies to MLA 5 times a week and from LGW where LH operates 3 daily flights to FRA.

I was also looking at this thinking it was slightly odd. Surely they don’t need 2 flights this close together. If they needed more capacity on the original 8:20 flight then changing an A320 to an A321neo would have worked and also saved a slot.

A more useful time would have been helpful! 20 minutes is odd and I bet many people will get lost going to wrong gate and delaying boarding. I was hoping for an afternoon/evening option. Would have made it more useful. Though at least Fri-Sun so good for weekends. And more avios seats for weekend trips.... Also a T5-T3 move...

Worth mentioning that ZAG has had a pretty generous landing fee incentive scheme.
