Incident at palm beach gardens Marriott
just received a call that the hotel is closed due to an incident? Anyone aware of an incident there that would close entire hotel during a busy week?

To me, the word incident in this context has connotations of police being involved.
Did the hotel say anything about when they expect to reopen? That could be very informative.
I hope the phone call isn't an attempt to avoid paying for a walk. The OP should try too verify what happened IMO.

Perhaps they have just suddenly been informed they will be leaving the Marriott system. I can't find any available dates in the future at the property.

An incident which causes a hotel to suddenly and permanently leave Starriott would have to be pretty extreme.

I agree that incident sounds ominous! I was using a cat 4 certificate but now have to use more points to stay elsewhere. I have stayed there previously and found the staff very good. The room just a typical Marriott.

Could this situation be related to the business transaction described in the following article from December 27, 2017?

XTo be honest I’ve never liked this property even though it’s convenient to the Gardens Mall and several restaurants. The interior hasn’t been renovated since the early 90’s and every room that I had was a dump so hopefully the renovations will do it justice.
