Sept 21st 'systems down' for BA at LHR
Friend just tweeted saying BA computers are down. No further details but thought it worth mentioning

I’m at T5 now and was just told that the server has gone down so they can’t price up an upgrade for me. The guy also said that no one was boarding at the moment due to the issue.

Is this just LHR or affecting LGW too?

Gatwick too. I'm there now and was told 'everything's down' - lounge desk computers etc not working.

I'm sat on the tarmac now. They've reopened the entertainment system and no chance of getting off soon. Captain said he's listening to company channel and no indication of time.

The terrible thing about BA's IT systems is not that they break down but that their time to repair is so long. Anytime any of their computers wets the bed it's hours before anything works again.
So the slightest glitch becomes a huge customer impact drama instead of 10 minutes of reading Facebook and then back to work.

On the bright side, if the computers are not connected, they can't be leaking our data.
