GoGo Gate To Gate

I thought GoGo 2k (on 737-900 for example) is supposed to offer gate to gate service?

why do FAs still say on flights it won’t work until 10,000 feet and it will discontinue below 10,000 feet? (For example I used it starting at take off with no problem and I am still posting this below 10,000 feet)

majority of flights still have none 2ku. Thus its easier to have one announcement then trying to have FA figure out which they have.

thats fair but if the DL app can push a notification stating that “you are on a enhanced gate to gate internet flight etc etc etc” why can’t FAs know it or be pushed to their tablets they carry?

Where and when did you see this message in the DL app?

It doesn't always work gate to gate and sometimes if your lucky it might work for you but not for your seatmate. I think FAs also still have to enable it because often before it works I see them fiddling with the screen in the galley.

I"ve **sometimes** gotten it pushed to my phone within an hour of boarding starting when I'm flying on a plane with 2KU installed.

I’ve had pretty good luck with the 2KU planes working gate to gate, except during climb out and if we’re making an especially steep descent. I imagine the angle interferes. It was weird being on a 717 and MD-90 this week without 2KU!

I guess it depends on how you define "majority" (are you including regional, which have their own FA scripts?), but all domestic mainline aircraft except the 737-700 have 2KU, according to Delta.

That page does not claim "all domestic mainline aircraft except 737-700 have 2ku." MD-88 and MD-90 don't. I am pretty sure 717 doesn't.

+1 - The site says it is available on 737-800, 737-900, 757-200, 757-300, A319, A320, A321, and A350. It also says it’s coming soon to the 737-700. The rest of the narrow and widebody and the entirety of the regional fleet either have ATG or the first generation of satellite.

Yeah, somehow I completely forgot about the existence of the MD fleet. (I haven't been on one in a while...)

I did the count a few months ago and got 400+ aircraft with 2Ku out of a mainline fleet of about 870. About 170 with Ku. About 600 with ATG or ATG-4 including CR7/CR9/E70/E75. About 125 CR2s with nothing.
