Not enough Tanqueray

This week, I flew to a Johannesburg and back in J. Outbound, I was on the upper deck and, after being served one Tanqueray and tonic, I was told it had run out so would have to switch to Gordon’s if i wanted to have a second.

The same thing happened on the way back before even the starter hadn’t been served.

If the menu is going to list a choice, one would think enough would be loaded. It felt especially annoying as my ticket cost over £6k.

Is it standard to have such low stocks?

In other news, the White Company bedding is now on this route and is a nice improvement. It’s just a pity the bar is not fully stocked.

I came back from CPT this week on the upper deck and didn’t even get my first G&T as Tanqueray. I’d say about half of my CW flights either have none or run out before landing.

I think each bar has 6 Gordon’s and 6 Tanqueray.

Very premium. It's disappointing enough being served Gordon's in economy, never mind in Club.

Sorry a bit off-topic....
But as the OP mentioned that the White Company bedding is now on the JNB sector, was the same loaded for the CPT flight you were on?

No, it was the old service and even the old washbags.

In another thread you mentioned that you log when passengers don't get first meal choice. Do you also record how long, or something similar, it takes to exhaust supplies of beverages to help estimate levels that might be sufficient X% of the time?

Flew the same route back in January and Tanqueray was available but they had no slimline tonic available on board. Just the regular one.

That doesn’t seem much for a long haul flight - and is that the total for out and return ?

Ah but the Traveller Gordon’s makes the Club Tanqueray taste even better

Depends on the aircraft type but we have between 4 to 6 bars.

Not in the same way but we do feedback common shortages.

Thanks for your quick reply

On the way out, I was served Tanqueray with the small bottle served alongside the drink. Surely, more than six of these are loaded on an A380? On the way back though, I was served just the drink. No sight of the small bottle at all. Maybe the crew were trying to spread out what they had among the passengers asking for Tanqueray.

I would almost rather it be removed from the menu if such woefully small quantities are loaded and it runs out so quickly into an 11 hour flight.
