Flight DEL-YYZ Sold out month in advance?

Helping someone plan a work trip to India....one of the choices coming back was BOM- DEL-YYZ. (as BOM-YYZ is not daily) on Mar 23

Looked on the website and turns out DEL-YYZ only has one seat left on a 789 and that one seat is PE. I figured it might be a web glitch and phoned in to reservations and was told, yep, one seat left and that's it (we needed 2)

Just out of curiosity, how common is this? I am not familiar with the patterns of India-Canada flights but it strikes me very odd that an entire plane is sold out a month in advance on what appears to be just a standard weekday...no major holiday in India or in Canada on those dates as far as I can see.

DEL-YYZ looked packed through all of March into April. However not the same for YYZ-DEL. Is there something unique about Canada-India traffic patterns where it's not consistently bi-directional?

So many people on this board were predicting that this route would fail promptly when it was launched. Glad to see high loads and continued service to India! ^

BOM-YYZ flights also look to be quite full, although not at high as DEL.

Late Auguest/Early September flights from China to YYZ was similar back around 2010, due to international students coming in. India routes are in similar position, huge traffic, and limited flights. Perhaps someone fly this route often can elaborate on how common this is?

Loads do not equal PRASM or net revenue. Question will be whether the fares are sufficient.

Entirely possible that a given flight is sold out or close to. A couple of large groups and the aircraft is full.

Not sure why 23 Mar is full. In general schools close earlier in India for the summer. Gr 1-9 close for April and May which is peak summer months in India and they reopen first week of June. Gr 10 (elementary schools) and Gr 12 (high school graduating to university) board exam students finish earlier as their exams are normally in March. University students also finish earlier specially their graduation year. So in general, Indians travelling to Canada with student age kids tend to do so in April-May.

AC does not oversell PY. It is likely that someone bought that PY ticket and one Y seat opened up somehow.

Yes I did say it was one PE, because that is what it was (yesterday morning). Today it is different.
