BA Silver status for sale on eBay?

I noticed that someone on eBay has claimed to sell 12 months of BAEC Silver membership for £695 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-Months...p/182998557521

Given the seller's other listings include GGL luggage tags and a Concorde Room Card, I'd imagine this is a GGL/CCR abusing their silver gift card benefits.

If so, not exactly within the spirit of the benefit, to say the least, in my opinion.

Serial borrower by the looks of things - noticed the Bose headphones and first class blankets. No kettle crisps though, which is odd.

Live and let live.

OK, it's a bit tacky - but probably a handy short-cut for someone not interested in doing mileage runs

I see the item hs either been aold or taken down. I remember last year someone on ebay was selling BA Gold Status for £999!

Its all a bit underhand, I much prefer doing a cheeky TP run and a holiday to Thailand to get my BA Silvwr haha

Not sure why, I cant stop laughing.... someone taking off airline properties and sell it on Ebay!! Dont they have little sense of shame? Or really not worried about being charged by the respected airlines? Ie CX, QR, BA, etc... and obviously, he sold quite a lot... just wow...

Very odd, you’d expect one would have to be flying a reasonable amount to want to bother attaining silver or gold, thus making a TP run a cheaper option, as sub £2 per TP is easily viable and you’d expect for it to even be worth doing the person interested in the status would already be around 50-75% of the way there!

it really is cringeworthy more then anything else.

Someone flying first class/business class regularly, and then selling a soap from a hotel for 5 quid from which he then has to give ebay their cut, pack, pay for postage, and then go and post. Its almost like this guy is an unpaid intern being flow as support to the big boss, or the nanny of a super rich couple. All very bizarre.

Surprised to see all his personal information on the seller listing. Are you even allowed to sell your Silver gift card?

From the variety of airlines and alliances I'm not sure if he is the actual flyer or has connections to get the stuff.

He's registered as a business, therefore his name/address on display is a legal requirement, even in ebay land.

He is taking quite a big risk with his name and address clearly displayed.
