Happens many years. In fact, I am hoping they offer it to me this year.

I have never gotten this promo or in fact any targeted promo. Data point: 12 stays this year and 3 more planned. (Was at 35+ stays last year.)
I'll retain credit card status next year, staying at HGIs whenever available, but continuing to split stays with marriott at the full service tier. The lack of ever receiving targeted Hilton promotions, elimination of the team USA rate, and poor/declining breakfast benefits in the cities I stay have dramatically reduced my loyalty to Hilton over the past year.
