Not happy about the change but I have decided to continue with Amex for the time being.

IMO, with the booster, the return is probably the best on the Belgian market. But given the hefty fees, it all depends on how much you spend. I'd say that if you were triggering the 10k bonus on the SN amex, it's probably worth it. Otherwise, the business case is less obvious unless you make good use of the insurance package/perks.
Spending 1,500 / month on the card, you'll earn 27,000 miles / year, which I'd value at around 270 euros or in this ballpark. The green card costs 186 euros, so actually getting 84 euros worth of miles.
Spending the same on a Beobank Extra card at 20 eur / year, you'll get 100 euros of cashback, so netting 80 euros.

I have declined the offer and explained them why, and heard nothing any more.

Ordered the Gold card. Will keep it half a year and re-assess when the new MM Mastercard comes out. I figure I will be able to earn back most if not all the the 20 EUR/month fees with perks (Restaurant reimbursement + Prime) in this time + a decent amount of miles (spending + welcome bonus).

I hope the new Mastercard will be decent though, since the Amex offer devalues a lot after the first year changing bonus wears off.

If you missed the chance to switch to the Amex Platinum from Brussels Airlines Miles & More Amex in the summer, now might be a great time to reconsider.
Amex is currently running a generous promotion, providing a signup bonus of 150,000 points for new Platinum applications and 60,000 points for Gold applications until November 28.
This is quite an attractive offer, especially when compared to the historical promotions Amex has previously extended to Belgian customers...

I wrote a little post about this whoever's interested:

To note for all those switchers, it has been a quite confusing process. When you receive your gold card (and I guess platinum choosers will be in the same boat), the accompanying letter says to install the BELUX app to activate your perks. The app kept saying, you're not eligible for this perk. Took me 2 chats (where it is not possible to share screenshots) and as last resort a call to customer care to understand that the perks where activated. Despite the app still stubbornly saying they are not available. For e.g. the Prime offer, you manually need to sign up on amazon.com.be using your card. For the bonus points they will only show up after 3 months.

The IT implementation is clearly failing…

Chat support activated the restaurant credit (tested and credit already showed up) and activated prime (not confirmed, free month first).

Point booster is working (3points/eur are showing up)

3000 eur bonus points offer was said to show up after three months

mileage transfer isn’t working.. first M&M wasn’t in the list, asked chat to add miles and more (incl number), then I got stuck on the two security numbers (so did a friend), had chat transfer 1000 points to see if it worked, and they showed up the day after…

Chat support has been very supportive, helpful and to the point.

Personally very happy with the card value (at least for as long as the points booster is free).

For anyone curious about the BRU airport Black Pearl lunch / dining experience, better meal than the SN lounge:

[Edit: should probably not have posted this in the M&M forum, mods please move as you see fit, sorry]

Miles&More Credit Cards Belgium

Miles&More stopped their partnership with AmEx October last year. Back then they said there would be another credit card to replace the AmEx cards but I haven't heard anything since then.
I don't think there have been any official announcements but maybe someone caught wind of anything?

BTW I have not been invited, 20 years BRU based SEN, but I only had the Amex 9 months until it got cancelled.
If you are attending, have fun, I hope the refined dinner will be better than in the lounge.
A bit off-topic They have improved the salad bar in the lounge somewhere in 2025 I hope its a start of more improvements

Can any of you shed some light on how they count the first three months for the bonus points after switching over from M&M to Gold? Is it calendar months, first three statements, or 3 months from the card activation date? And when are the bonus points added to the account?

I was present as well, nice event, nice goodies. I signed up for a 'regular' Amex back in November when the Brussels Airlines Amex ended. Time to evalutate what I am going to do with the Amex Gold card. Defenitely going to sign up with the Mastercard as it is much more accepted.

If I cancel (or downgrade) the Amex, do they claim the bonus miles back?

What I also like, maybe off topic, looks like they are going to launch a small business Mastercard as well, unsure if this will have any link with Brussels Airlines/Star Alliance. But very interested in this too to separate personal/professional spent.

Thank you for this advance info! I would still have a few questions: Does the suspension of mileage expiry apply to all 3 cards or only to the most expensive one? If I pay the whole credited amount each month, there are no interests (I only pay the annual fee €180)? How many lounge visits/year are included with the Priority Pass?

Important for the once that switched to the Amex plat of gold. I didn't see this information in my mailbox, maybe i just missed it.

I am not surprised! Miles and More is just taking the customers back they lost when the cooperation with Amex ended.
And Amex makes promises they can't fulfull, once again. So I am very happy I did not sign up for the new Amex. First, they promised me 10.000 miles with 20.000 EUR spending in the first year, but they cancelled my card after 8 months and did not give me the bonus. And then they tried to convince me to pay for a new Amex which brings a large number of miles, and only a couple of months later they announce you can't get miles any more in the future...

The new Mastercard is more interesting, but due to the announced devaluation of Miles and More I will certainly not pay for the credit card. So I tried to sign up if the first year is for free. If they charge the 180 EUR the next years I can always cancel after the first year.

Have just checked with the Amex chat line who confirmed it. This information will be on the next Amex statement.
Also that the signup bonus points will be credited by end March.
