Did a same day turn in Sept. on DL. But I had about 7 hrs.
Could not stay airside. Had to check in landside to get boarding pass. Then had to pay 550 pesos (about $12.25) to leave the country. Security was painless and gates not far from that.

1 1/2 hour might be tight depending on time spent at check-in. Seemed like they kind of slow getting people thru to checkin lines. May be just right then.

If you are out of SIN airport at 1pm then suggest you take a 15 minute taxi ride to Novena MRT Food court or go to Maxwell street food court or China Town food courts, or Tiong Bahru food court. Check timings!

The East Coast Parkway food court may also be open at that time.

This should give you atleast 2-3 hours before you should return to SIN airport.
At that time of the night taxi rides take between 10-15-20 minutes anywhere in SIN and should cost about S$15-20 each way max. Many of the Older Singapore Taxi drivers are good guides and will suggest places to eat.
Try the Local Hainanese Chicken rice it is yummy.

The SIN airport (airside) also has decent food courts all over.

Doing same day turn in MNL next week on UA. Arrive 9 am and depart at 1055 pm. Decided to get a hotel room for day to freshen up and have a base to walk around etc. hoping to get to hotel by 1030 am latest and leave back for airport at 845 pm.
Make sense or cutting it too close??

I'd done a number of PTY same plane turns, just staying at the gate with no issues. Then as it turns out I sat next to an air marshall, who queried me on my return - I thought he was also doing a mileage run, but turns out he was clueless, even after I explained it.

Next time I was met by 2 customs men at the gate who interrogated me for 10 min while going thru everything in my bag [including reading my notebook] - all without my permission - clearly never having heard of mileage runs. I referred them to the gate agents who were around to verify, but they wouldn't talk to them.

Finally they let me board [last on], but the plane took additional delays both ways due to "flow control" - something I never heard of for PTY, nor did any other plane experience that the same day. Coincidence? Who knows. On return, I sailed thru customs, so sounds like they were just doing something for their own job security [if air marshals don't actually prevent any attacks - they have to justify their job of sitting there somehow].

Now I'm taking with me a printout explanation of what mileage runs are so they can "document" they're presumed reports. Most customs people have heard of MR's, and just laugh, but some with a badge are just ignorant, intrusive, and arrogant.

Had the same thing happening to me doing two MRs on F upgraded cheap LAX-MIA-MEX-MIA-LAX tickets in 10 days. Close to TLV-class security with extremely close looks on everything I had as HBO, talking to me in rather harsh voices. After some 40min allowed to repack my stuff, barely made it to the gate before closing. Arriving at MIA, my small Victorinox rollaboard was almost taken in pieces, samples taken for analyses (drugs?) from everything in the bag, my trouser pockets, hands and shoes. Missed my LA flight and re-booked by understanding Aangels, who were very familiar with the concept of a MR.

MR to SAL, turn in under an hour?

I'm considering a MR to San Salvador but the turn time is just 1 hour (arrive 11:25, depart 12:25).

Is it possible to deplane and re-board in this amount of time?

Minimum Connection Times

Those are MCT's for SAL.

Depending on what airline you arrive/ depart, and if you connection is (I)nternational or (D)omestic the MCT will change per airport.

So if you arrive on UA via an I flight, and depart on UA to another I flight your MCT is 1.00 hours per the chart.

Again, per your profile I am just assuming UA, also because it is an MR I assume it is an international to international connection. If you could give more information that would help.

Another data point for SJU:

I flew EWR-IAD-SJU-IAH-EWR yesterday on UA. I had 45 minutes scheduled in SJU, but a delay in IAD reduced that to 20 minutes. My inbound and outbound flights were one gate apart, so I walked into the terminal, made a 20 yard U-turn to the next gate, and walked right back onto another plane. I had boarding passes all the way through from online/mobile check-in.

Given the delay, the computer (or someone working behind the scenes) protected me on a next day itinerary of SJU-STT-EWR, but I didn't end up misconnecting (or getting stranded in SJU). This all worked out because SJU is in the US - had this been an international connection (between IAD-SJU and SJU-IAH), I wouldn't have made it (and presumably MCT would have prevented me from booking a 45 minute connection).

For the wiki link to this post, I'm considering this a transit and not a turnaround because I had boarding passes for my ongoing flight, and because I wasn't turning around to return to my origin.

As far as SJU is concerned this is a turnaround. You arrived at SJU from IAH and departed SJU to IAH. Other flights before and after don't alter this.

1 1/2 hour might be tight depending on time spent at check-in. Seemed like they kind of slow getting people thru to checkin lines. May be just right then.

left monday nite from the century plaza hotel near harrison mall
at 645pm for a 1025pm flight. between construction and traffic only arrived at the airport at 830p. Then on top of this first you must show proof that your flying out before you enter the terminal, clear baggage xray, check in, pay the terminal tax, clear immigration and then screening. United uses a lounge by gate 9, however if you smoke, Delta used to allow United pax to use their lounge's smoking room but the lounge is no longer there as Delta moved to Term 3 and the coffee bar by gate 1 is no longer due to terminal renovation. You can only smoke up at the pay lounge Club Manila.
On top of this when you go to the gate for the flight to Guam you will be subjected to them going thru your carry on, then get frisked, and then take your shoes off so they can hand search them

The airport is really small. You'll deplane outside via stairs, walk into the one luggage baggage claim area and if you're not checking any luggage, have to wait for them to unlock to the door to the terminal. No customs or immigration as Puerto Rico is a US territory.

There's really not much in the terminal, a small cafe, store and the check-in counters. I had my return boarding pass so I just went to security. There's not a sign denoting this, but first class and premium passengers can use the crew lane on the left side to move to the front of the slow moving security line.

There's not much in the gate area - a few soda machines, some cheap booze and bathrooms, but you won't be there long if you're doing a mileage run. United boards early and initially without any announcements (the crew turns right around so they're motivated to get back to EWR).

It's a pretty easy turn - might be a little more challenging if you're checking luggage. I ran into at least three other folks doing MRs...

Cell coverage (AT&T) was great and cell service is considered US domestic.
just did the same run this weekend to hawaii
the only thing to add was that if you come out of baggage claim and turnaround right away at screening you dont have to get checked by agriculture, however if you go outside get some tropical air, smoke or meet friends then you have to go to agriculture first before screening. The duty free also has great prices on liquor and cigs, and the cafe makes a mean but small latte. BTW Jet Blue, Spirit and United all leave withing a hour and a half of each other so screening can get crowded but it moves
