Agree... Fast vs. Slow is simply rediculous

Remember the first time you saw this option... fast vs. slow. Didn't you think... What the heck is this? I picked the slow internet option and it was SO slow that I just pulled out my Verizon air card used that. I didn't try, but I would imagine most properties would credit the higher speed if used. Glad most properties just have one service that is very fine.

But it's like sending up a complimentary fruit basket with some bruised fruit... and a note... Thank you for choosing Starwood and achieving the Platinum level... iif you'd like to enjoy perfectly ripe fruit please let us know and we'd be happy to send up another fruit basket for $16.95 + tax.

My philosophy is... If you're going to do it... do it right.

If you encounter a hotel that does not allow you to choose the highest available speed of internet service, where the option exists, you need to contact Corporate Customer Service and issue a formal complaint.

If you would then send me or Thyetus the complaint file number, we can have the SPG hotel coordinators follow up as well.

Beats just having a fruit basket full of bruised fruit and a thank you note with no option to change to non-bruised fruit.

Not for me. Did not have to ask for the Internet to be removed once since the program started,

It's more helpful if you name the property.

Did you specifically ask, or was it on the sign-on screen?

I just completed a stay at The Westin Peachtree Plaza. The HSIA sign-on screen indicated I was eligible for free HSIA but for only $4.95 more I could opt for super fast HSIA. I decided to opt for the higher speed to see what happened. Upon check-out, there was no charge for HSIA.

i didn't want to have an argument during checkout over which option was free so i just asked when i first got to my room....there were 4 options & i was told that the first 2 were free for plats & i would have to pay for the other 2 faster speeds....

I decided to go with the highest speed even though it said it would be extra and not free. If I had run into any problem at check-out, I was going to avail myself of what Starwood Lurker stated in Post #332:

However, as I stated there was no charge on the folio so I believe the property handled it properly.
