flybmi.com Flight Status off by 1 hour!

So I am checking flight status on BD705 MAN-ORD for Wednesday, August 6.

My ticket/itinerary shows 11:00 am scheduled departure/1:15 pm scheduled arrival, but flybmi.com shows 10:00 am STD/12:15 STA! I checked one day before and two day before and it also shows one hour earlier departure/arrival!

Anyway, I called BMI in the US and they confirmed that that correct scheduled departure time is 11 am after all.

Just another flybmi.com bug. Not sure if anyone has come across this, I did a search on this forum and did not see any mention of this particular bug.

Funny to also note when you call BMI USA toll-free to get automated flight arrival/departure information, they still give you an option for Washington Dulles and the recording goes on to mention that the flight has been discontinued as of October 2005! Time to do some housekeeping!

Right now the website is correct and says :

BD0705 MAN ORD 06 Aug 08 11:00 06 Aug 08 13:15 Scheduled

Flight details
Scheduled departure 06 Aug 08 11:00
Scheduled arrival 06 Aug 08 13:15
Estimated departure-
Estimated arrival 06 Aug 08 13:15
Actual departure-
Actual arrival-
Status Scheduled
Are you in a different time zone ?

Discrepancy between USA and UK sites

I'm in LAX and expecting someone on this flight. I'm checking on the USA site, and this is what I'm seeing:

Flight details
Scheduled departure 06 Aug 08 10:00
Scheduled arrival 06 Aug 08 12:15
Estimated departure-
Estimated arrival 06 Aug 08 12:15
Actual departure-
Actual arrival-
Status Scheduled

However, as Oxon Flyer said, when I switch to the UK site, it does give the correct info

Flight details
Scheduled departure 06 Aug 08 11:00
Scheduled arrival 06 Aug 08 13:15
Estimated departure-
Estimated arrival 06 Aug 08 13:15
Actual departure-
Actual arrival-
Status Scheduled

Strange.

GMT vs BST

looks like a classic case of flight times being reported in the US using GMT.

remember, we (UK) are currently in BST which is GMT + 1.

yes??

Best way of tracking the BD transatlantics is using Flightaware, although it only gives accurate info once the flight is in US airspace and BD is sometimes filed as BMA.

Yes, I also like to use Flightaware, but in this case, I wanted to check on the departure status from MAN which is not available on Flightaware so I checked flybmi.com and got a scare when I saw that it was one hour earlier! And my sister who was scheduled for this flight was in a remote location 3 hours from MAN, so I was concerned that she might not be aware of the "schedule change."

They need to fix this.

Anyway, I noticed BD705 was delayed by 13 hours on Thursday, August 7. Anyone know the reason why? With only two longhaul a/c based in MAN and flights to ORD/LAS/ANU/BGI, BD sure runs a tight schedule out of MAN with little margin for delays--how are they going to fix this one?

Same they always do - run everything late until they catch up or cancel a flight to give themselves breathing space. I agree it is an extraordinary utilisation of aircraft.

And rather economical with the truth too !
Still, a pretty safe connection from ABZ today.
