Honestly AA could've installed a much larger PEY cabin. 10-abreast on the 777 is pure torture IMO. Doesn't matter how bad PEY actually is, the extra 1.5 inches compared to Y is well worth it.

This will get some play in the mainstream media soon enough, and AA will then have to relent. Will be a horrible look if AA lets crew opt out but not passengers. Then again I wouldn't put anything...

If you're ok flying in economy anyways, I'd go with AA despite the ancient 767. I've had far too many journeys go awry, so these days I value flying from A to B on a single ticket very highly.

Can't say I disagree. Boeing is rather lucky that the two crashes were an Asian and African airline. If either one was an AA or UA plane, the max would've already been grounded no questions asked.

What's your point? JT's 739s seat even more, over 200 I believe. And despite their spotty record, they'd actually had a few good years prior to the October crash.

The 763 Y seat actually has padding. And IIRC an extra 1-1.5 inches in seat width AND pitch. Haven't been an oasis F seat but the 763 Y seat sounds far more comfortable.

Thank you for this analysis. I'm kind of shocked by (1) and (3) actually. (1) is massively in favor of AA given the significant amount of money a GLD can save. Although, I think UA allows standby...

Am planning on it. Was just curious if others had the same issue and if they got the PE credit as originally purchased. But yes I'm definitely going to call in.
