About 2 years I think, ever since they started putting group numbers on the boarding pass. There is no visable sign of any status on the pass.

It has led to me being initially turned away at the...

I would guess plans mentioned above to combine the existing Aspire and former BA spaces into one may depend on how much of the gap left by Flybe is filled. You could see Aspire just using the old BA...

I would have been happy to have been wrong!

As BA have cut domestic flights elsewhere in recent years I do wonder if this will happen at other UK airports.

I'm sure at first sight it will save...

I agree there would be some advantages of being a Aspire lounge in that it would be open all day and have bacon rolls in the morning.

Everything else though would be a downgrade.

I wasn't told the lounge space was closing, but that Aspire was taking it over so your contact would be correct to say that the lounge is to remain open.

Very soon. I think it was weeks rather than months.

I didn't press them on details so no idea if there will still be direct boarding or any separate area for BA.

I asked on a recent visit to the lounge and was told the BA lounge is being taken over by Aspire so unfortunately it is not just a rumour.

I was quite surprised, but pleasantly so, when Alaska announced an interim to join oneworld. I did notice though that they already partner with quite a few other oneworld members. I wonder if that is...

Thank you. The AA scheme is certainly very impressive for long haul travel whereas BA is good for short haul. They are probably the two front runners if I don't retain Qantas status.

That is also 25% of the way to lifetime Gold which obviously would mean something to you.

If you were flying enough to just scrape silver in BA Exec Club that would be 600 tier points per year so...

This is not correct as it depends on the route as QFF is based on distance, so it depends where up are flying to. From London on BA to Amsterdam in business would be 20 status credits, Dublin would...
