Suggestion elsewhere was that they'd be using both platforms at Heathrow now so the extra dwell time would 'migrate' from one end of the line to the other so may not make so much difference ... but...

No clue on traffic around there, but Google Maps suggests you wouldn't go through Leeds but around it which may make it better ... if it's only 1h45 with no traffic then a 1600 set off for a 2000...

First I'd heard of this, but Heathrow Express will only have use of one platform at Paddington rather than the current two from this year ... It seems to be coming in on the December timetable change...

Got through in the end and got rebooked no problem on the AerLingus at the same time more or less as the original BA flight ( it’s got a BA code so presumably that’s why they are able to do it...
