Thanks for the report - especially the part about Nakiryu! I'll be in Tokyo over Christmas so am aiming to give this a go. Tantanmen for Y850 in a Michelin starred restaurant is a bargain.

I was in Hokkaido in September and loved it - especially Lake Toya, I assume you'll be in Toyako-onsen. If so you will miss the fireworks displays but have the illuminations tunnel instead I think....
