1 mile flown = 1 mile earned as a rule then as you are a UK member multiply that by 1.25 for WT+, 2x for Club and 3x fro First.
( only 25% of miles earned for WT if booked in a discounted fair class)

I Don't think asking for seats with extra legroom will do anything for you as the only ones that gives these are exit rows and they don't pre-book these as the are supposed to see that you are fit...

I think this depends if you want to recline all the way and lay flat out. You could recline the seat to say 45% and have a shed load more room that WT+.
