This seems consistent with their pre-COVID trials of offering the option of checking a bag at the gate for free (or at reduced cost).

Yes, but OP normally qualifies on credit card spend, which isn't reduced *if* you're qualifying on spend alone.

That said, for this year only, $30k of spend + 4,000 Mosaic qualifying points will...

The email does say "Valid for travel booked and flown 1/1 - 5/20/21" right in the announcement. That said, there are a few interesting bits in the fine print; emphases in bold below are mine. It...

Not commenting on your other items (which I mostly agree with) — but AA gold elites have a 24 hour window for MCE. That is strikingly similar to the new Mosaic benefit for EMS, and I suspect means AA...

Nice to see SJD added to their network. Here's hoping it will be successful and lead to more destinations -- I would love to see them serve PVR from somewhere.

Slight complication: only the smaller, shorter range A220-100 is certified to operate out of LCY, and Airbus has said they have no plans to certify the A220-300 that B6 flies.

The A220-300's range...

The problem here is it only works in one direction. You can fly LAX-JFK-LHR without passengers deplaning, but not LHR-JFK-LAX.

(Technically they could probably do a one stop without having through...

Unless that subsidy includes money to buy slots in London, I think it's unlikely. B6 already connects a ton of BUF traffic in BOS very successfully, including to international flights on partners.

They also increase to 4x daily in late January / early February, before reverting to the normal 10x schedule (which is probably unlikely to hold).

The first few weeks of January are traditionally...

I think a lot of this is simply needing to play the slot allocation game for a while before slots become available; requesting slots and not getting them now may give them an advantage in future...

Thinking outside the box, what if they developed some kind of arrangement with the TWA Hotel at JFK? Obviously it's outside security — but the majority of passengers are going to be O&D for a while,...

I left AA for JetBlue a few years ago, and I agree with you. That said — AA does offer all that for free, and B6 doesn't. With B6 now basically charging Mosaics cash prices for EMS, I'm equally able...

If they are in fact eliminating the discount on point-based upgrades, I don't think there's much chance they're going to turn around and offer them for free.

I am holding out a sliver of hope that...

Jeez. $34 or 1500 points on BOS-RIC on a random date I checked. Last route I flew. I paid 400 points for the seat last time.

If this isn't temporary, it's going to make me seriously reconsider the...

Speaking of Alaska, it sounds as if they are moving closer to a decision to ditch Airbus entirely. Most of their Airbus planes are leased, with leases ending in the next couple of years. And they are...

I suspect it will take a few years for B6 to build up a lot of (profitable) LHR-originating traffic. But really, that's probably fine.

Just looking at BOS-LHR — historically we're talking about 8...
