Probably. I avoide uber not just because of their questionable insurance but I refuse to support any company in the UK that dose not pay tax here. ( plus the recent hacking scandal ) .

I use black cabs on a daily basis and have never been ripped off. From what I understand Uber drivers are not crb checked ( if that is what they still call it) not insued and have no training.
