I would vote for the IAH flight for the reasons already mentioned; plus the more flight segments on an itinerary, the greater the chance of IRROPS and checked baggage issues.

I always thought the ‘boarding pass only’ requirement was a bit loose. In Europe some airlines have gone to gate entry systems, where you scan your BP and your in. No human intervention required....
