There have been many people arrested at a checkpoint for this or that alleged crime. Sometimes even a TSO. I grant all of them the benefit of the doubt, as the law requires, until such time as they...

Maybe they are

We have no freakin' idea what goes on in the wiener screener booth, and how in the world can evidence be gathered with the constant threat of arrest for videotaping?

Maybe they would be in Oregon. Check out ORS 166.065 Harassment.

Good. Because otherwise they would be inhuman.

Well, over the top, I'd say. I dislike TSA as much as anybody

I can't endorse even joking about this type of thing. And since every place in America can get shot up any time, it hardly becomes prescient to predict it may happen at an airport.

Part of the whole Milgram experiment

[QUOTE=TheGolfWidow;16307772]:)

We all know what's going on here. "Meeting resistance" is being used as a euphemism so that the screeners can create an artificial separation for themselves from...

I have an idea

Then why did the contract specify the ability to save and transmit images, including a USB port?

What is the assurance this is not being done remotely for every scan? Again, the contract...

Courthouse security -- a perspective view?

In the course of my professional activities, I have visited numerous secure buildings. These include courthouses, jails, prisons, and federal office buildings. I thought I would give my observations...

I have visited maximum security prisons and never did I see

visitors ever forced to disrobe or "go to a private room."

Why is this?

TSO’s are not allowed to communicate to the searching officer what the item may be, only a generic area of the body that may contain it.

Ron, what are you trying to say here?

So, the parent can walk away with the child, no $11,000 fine, no LEO interview, if the parent chooses not to have the AIT done on the child?

There is much hyperbole, but the main concern is valid.

You make a good point, but the Japanese-American comparison is useful. Reminding people of what was done then, by our own government, and not by some foreign dictatorship, helps show that our...

More paranoid then then one might thing in WW2.

We did get paranoid enough to round up a whole bunch of Japanese-Americans and send them off to relocation camps. And we have regretted that ever since.

LEO are extremely reluctant to arrest a parent for minor

charge if if means having to contact child protective services. This is not done every day, there are particular protocols and procedures that have to be followed, etc. It is a LOT of paperwork.

I believe what is meant is that he is hoping now will be seen as an aberration

perhaps something like the Japanese internment camps are now regarded.

However, he is concerned that this may come to pass, and that TSA will expand outside of the airport and the current airport...

In the NOLA case they sent the child through WBI and THEN

laid hands on her. And this was considered completely proper by Maximum Leader Pistole.

Just think: somebody, probably a man, is doing virtual strip searches of children all day long. And this...

"Welcome, cattle."

In truth though, we deserve it. We let ourselves be treated this way.

TSA lacks resources to deal with trains and autos

This cannot be done on the same basis as aircraft, because the access points are obviously different for these transport mechanisms.

What TSA could do is set up some mobile screening units, and...

Even TSA dares not have male TSA "pat down" girls

I just cannot imagine we could ever see a 45 year old male TSA laying hands on the body of a 14 y/o female passenger.

Of course, I couldn't imagine that a 45 y/o male government employee would...

Problem is the dictatorship breaks down on the personal level

I think it's harder to find male TSA who are willing to grope men, not because the male TSA have any more morals than the female TSA, but because of the "will I turn gay" irrational fear factor.

On CNN right now, discussion is very low intellectual level

"Flying is privilege" blah blah blah, no mention of actual facts of the case, that child had already been subjected to virtual strip search, no mention of why a WTMD could not have been used instead,...

Perhaps the biggest lie is "a child is not separated from parent"

In the New Orleans, Portland and Savannah incidents the children were all separated from their parents. For example, you can see in the NOLA incident the mother being commanded to stand away from...

This is not a unique or unusual situation

Suppose an employee's duties included taking mail to the post office. It's reasonably anticipated that that an employee could be hit by a car en route. If that happens, it's a workers comp claim. ...
