FWIW, I got a "help, we need your seat" email from Alaska when I left PDX on Wednesday. Offer was $250. Not worth it.

I was trying to get a VDB on my WN flight which would have likely netted $750+...

No. The airline has to have an ETOPS program in place that's approved by the FAA. That's independent of airplanes. It covers training, operations inside ETOPS airspace, maintenance, communications...

The current AS NGs don't have the AOA indicator on the PFDs. No clue if it shows on the HUD. I'd guess with the MAX 9s will have it on the PFD and HUD.
