Ideas for flight from SF to keep miles?

I fly AA, but a friend appealed to me for help with 200K expiring KLM miles as of end of April. It seems a restaurant won't do; it has to be a real Skyteam flight.

You can also get an award on Air Tahiti Nui (http://www.airtahitinui-usa.com/services/routemap.asp). AA to LAX then TN to PPT and AKL. And you could stopover in Tahiti.

Not sure of your sources but the D3 and D700 have the same sensor and same processor, and I haven't seen report of differences in low light performace, AF is different a bit, however.

I also am not a lawyer, but some of the issue might be what the parents (believed they) were told. Even if the gate agent misstated the AA policy, AA might be liable.
