Trying to get the costs down as low as possible for this trip. So keen to avoid even an extra £30-£40 if I can.

And moving the final sector to a later date adds considerably to the cost.

Ah, so the cancelled flights are still there, just under separate itineraries saying 'unable, does not operate'. I guess that's what's confusing BA's systems.
