Yes, I flew TCX in 2018 and vowed never again. They didn't exist the following year so avoiding them was easy.

The allowance is correct but they will make you check in the cabin bag.

When I flew in the summer, OLCI was inhibited both ways to ensure everybody had to visit check-in and check their cabin bag....
