I've done four roundtrips to HKG on CX in the last 9 months, plus PVG-CPH on SAS and MUC-DEN on LH. In the past I've done more LHR to/from AUS, IAH or DFW than I care to remember on BA.

Of those,...

It seems to vary a lot by configuration. One of the Cathay configs (the 77H) has curtains fore and aft that separate PE from both Business and Economy and one semi-dedicated toilet in the PE cabin....

Thanks - I hadn't realized. I don't know if they over provide but I've never had a case of "Sorry Sir, we only have x left" so assumed the choice was because PE got first pick. Superficially at least...

I think Cathay is probably the same as Economy but I buy PE for the seat (IMO in the 77G or H is better than BA) not for the food however it's probably already better TPAC than BA TATL anyway.

That has to be the understatement of the week. I got to visit last night for the first time and that T5 lounge has all the charm, as well as much of the decor, of a fast food outlet. Did I...

Well, I finally got there after a dropped call and a couple of very long holds. In hindsight I think the issue was indeed the upgrade with LH messing up the ticket. One other bizarre thing is the...

OK, thanks - I take your point about the split. I think what's throwing me off is the receipt clearly shows the LH sector as booked in U on an 016 ticket. Somehow this got modified somewhere to be an...

The outbounds were originally booked in G, the inbounds in U.

What I suspect may have happened is the SFO-PVG was upgraded to a ZN and the MUC-DEN to N (it was actually Premium Economy) which I...

I don't think you're correct to look at this in the context of the Hotel bill, The all up cost of employing me is well north of $1k per day, the opportunity cost of not being able to bill my time is...

That's pretty much where I am as well. I'm refusing to get only any 77W or updated 772 with 10 abreast seating, or any 788, 789, or A350 in the back. I'd rather not go, but the choices are getting...

My current employer is another, though they will upgrade you if you regularly hit a "number of trips" threshold which probably takes care of the top tier management.

As another reference point I'm...

I can't see it in the airliners.net list but it looks like the early morning AUS-MIA has gone away. That's a royal PITA as it's now no longer possible to connect to most destinations south east of...

I know they can get a 744 on Gate 2 but I imagine a 388 would be a bit of a stretch for the gate, the baggage claim and the lounge once daily, let alone twice.

Unless they're going to park outside...

I don't know if that's a mock up in a corner of a hanger or the representative of the real 789 configuration? If it is then 3 rows of 2-3-2 is welcome but about half of what BA has on the same type.

It doesn't have to be a choice between 3x3 and 2x3 - there's a fairly good precedent on AA for 2x3. A domestic product that had 2x3, a couple more inches of legroom, power at every seat, some kind of...

I prefer to think of it as an "enhancement", though a bloody expensive one for local taxpayers - the numbers I saw were over $60 million for a space smaller than most US supermarkets.
