Worse than their own long haul product for sure, but given that they are all aisle access lie flats they are better than the old SQ regional products and even the long haul product of many mainstream...

Better safe than sorry. Hotels are cheap in CAI, I would definitely go the night before or take the long connection at LHR. BA won't do diddly squat for you if you miss the first leg.
