I'll go ahead and throw a vote in for SJC after the renovation. Security has always been pretty good, the new terminal is spacious and has good food options, and (especially when compared to SFO)...

For what it's worth, we've been criticizing UA for trying to cut it's way to profitability for about 6 years now. For a while in there, leading up to the merger, it looked like it worked.

They're running occasional 2x redeyes right now. Look at this Friday (8/12). It's no different from SFO-IAD, which has 3x redeyes some parts of the year, and 2x others.

But, it's not just the headwinds that contribute. The tailwinds going the opposite direction serve to knock down flight time west to east. As such, you see the effect twice.
