I'd wager that a large majority of people with the Reserve card also utilize it for the MQD waiver, which you wouldn't get with the standard Amex Platinum.

Just a theory, though.

Ah. That's likely generally why. Usually mid-week flights (at least, from what I've seen) are cheapest unless you don't want an immediate turn and can bypass the weekend pretty much entirely.

Easiest way is going to use a positioning flight to get in on one of the SIN routes. Csfing1 does a great job of staying on top of dates/prices in this thread.
