Recently, I was trying to get a quote of rental price for my trip to New Zealand. I noticed that they now penalize the reward bookings:

Cancel within 24 hours of booking – full points refund...

i think it depends on locations. some places actually will charge you a fee if you return one day before the scheduled return date. I am not 100% sure which countries have terms like that, Canada??

If you book it under your own profile, then they have your cc and they will charge you no show or whatever fee. If you book as guest and claim the points/ miles later, without giving them your cc...

i am going to give the pickup location a call and see what they say. didn't drive manual for a long time and driving on the other side is not going to help
