Google maps has taxi prices now- at least it does for me.

Around £5 in an Uber, or £10 in a cab off the rank.

You could also jump on the tube for 1 stop to Bayswater, then walk 5 min.

Google Maps suggests you can get the 600 bus every 20 minutes, alight at Bridge End (just before crossing the river) and then walk 17 minutes. It doesn't look like much fun. An Uber would be £7-10.

You'll be arriving into T2 and departing from T5, so that's not ideal. Would you store your bag at T2 or T5? Either way, you have to faff around changing terminals.

Per transaction charges, yes. I think TFL makes a charge once per day, so if your card has a $2 transaction charge, then you have to add that to your daily costs even if you only make one bus...

I haven't used it, but seen it recommended and it does exactly as you suggest - works out if it would be cheaper for you to switch hotels part way through...
