Cheaper fares? Fair enough.
Point bargains? Never fits my schedule. Point campaigns with extra points? A nice bonus, but doesn't trigger much extra travel from me. The good old Vkamp, however. That could get me flying to the weirdest destinations. There's nothing like paying 3-400 NOK, getting some friends to join you, fly to somewhere, and make 100% points on top of that. Only thing that could top that would have been free food/drinks onboard  |
I would have to say d) none of the above, had such an alternative been provided. I would travel more if I had more time and a reason. Just a cheap fare is seldom reason enough (unless it is really exceptional). What SAS should be asking is what it would take to get us to choose SAS over the competition. Then we could start talking cheaper fares, schedules, campaigns, point bargains, mileage earnings, service on board etc. Why does SAS put time and effort into things they can't affect much (get people to travel more), when they should try to put time and things they can affect (making SAS the first choice)?

For a quick poll I´d say it´s reasonable. I choosed the more points option... (as I seem to have been the ONLY one not to receive any double points offers recently...)
|
I have to admit that one extra points campaign made me choose especially SK flights via ARN and CPH few years ago when I had also other options.
|
A way of earning 100% on cheap fares would make me fly SAS more often!
Extra points offers are a waste of time imo. A decent basic point offer (e.g. double or triple points) would get me to use SAS for holidays (long haul), if there was a chance of earning EBG (useful for business travel in the Nordics). |
Haven't taken the poll yet, but were there a place to rant about their terrible web site?

I also think that better deals on IC business tickets, would make me choose SK more often. Right now I am booking a ticket to NYC and LX let`s me try their new business class for between 5000 and 10000 NOK less than SK charges! Even the 25% extra points for SK Gold`s won`t swing this one SK`s way... |

I totally agree with you. 100% points on more booking classes would really make me fly more often with SK intra Europe ^
As an EBB, I had the feeling that SAS transports you from A to B with no frill, no food, no drink, no points, like all their competitors even though their competitors are more expensive. Not a good incentive to be loyal and I was not flying SAS unless in desperate situations... |

I can secure emergency exits on all of my European flights and this has a very high value for me.
plus it doesnt show on the seating map whether or not there is extra space. |

Which planes have extra legs rooms at the emergency exits? I almost never fly intra-europe so my knowledge is limited...

The most generous are A321: they have doors similar to long haul aircrafts. Was in 10F last monday... unlimited legroom :) The MD have more confortable seats, I quite dislike the thin and hard seats in newer aircrafts. Since this priviledge is only for EBG, almost nobody preassigns seats, so it is widely available on all European flights, making it be a nice benefit.

All of them. Although some have more than others. The MDs are the most generous, at least that's my impression
The A321 and MD80 are great and 10AF on the 737-500`s used to be great, but my favorite seat of all must be 1F on the 737-400^ Excellent legroom and 3 windows:D As an EBG you get to choose seats when you book all over the seat plan on domestic flights in Norway, which is a nice treat in my opinion. |
