Booking classes visible!

I can't believe it! Has SAS made an improvement to their web-booking??? I looked at some fares today at the www.sas.fi page, and there was suddenly a link to fare basis information! I could infact see which booking class the fare would book in! Amazing! Better late than never ^

Did you look for an intercontinental flight? They've been showing booking classes for quite a while for those flights - if you know what to look for (most passangers don't). I tried to look up prices for OSL-LON from www.sas.fi and no there was no possibility for me to see my booking class before confirming payment.

The problem is not only that they don't show the booking classes, but that they don't let you decide what booking class you want to be in (25%-earning, 100%-earning etc).

Aah, true. It was infact intercontinental... I did not know there was a difference. Why on earth is that btw? If they can do it on intercontinental, why not on shorter?

I agree that they should let you choose between 25% and 100%, but if the class would be visible, then you would at least know what you are booking...

Incredible that people get excited about web sites showing a little information that all other airlines show and should have been available when SAS introduced the 25% rule 5 years ago.

Pretty amazing how BAD SAS IT really is:td::td:

I hope this is something that you will address when/if you meet with the SAS management. I have always suspected that this system is something that SAS has kept deliberately, in order to squeeze out a little extra cash from the customers, but give out less points.

Did that at our first meeting in 2005 and ever since...:rolleyes:

Actually, they haven't gotten back to me after the meeting invite I sent to Eurobonus the day the upgrade award hikes were postponed.

Only problem is that they would actually make MORE money if they had a better system and would let the customers see and change their booking class.

The way the system works today it refuses you to book anything but the cheapest ticket within each class (which most of the time gives 25% earning in economy and is bad for both SAS and the customers).

I noticed that blue1.com in fact shows the booking class. I don't know how flexibly you can book tickets for the entire SAS network... But at least when I looked at some HEL-CPH flights, I could see which class it was booking into. Not as good as being able to select the 100%, but still something...

Searching for flights ARN-CPH and ARN-MAN on SAS.se, I noticed that they have actually changed the booking interface to look like when booking intercontinental flights which mean that the booking class is now visible when booking all flights with SAS.

If they could now only make it a little bit more beautiful, and make it possible to choose between 25% and 100% tickets.
