SAS medevac plane may be called into service
 
The Swedish government is willing to send a medevac plane to evacuate EU citizens from Mumbai, according to the Swedish National Radio: http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/ekot/artike...rtikel=2471263 (in Swedish).

This is an SK 737-800 that can be converted in 6-8 hours: http://www.luftfartsstyrelsen.se/tem...____38733.aspx (also in Swedish)

This is the first time the SNAM organization - Swedish National Air Medevac - has been activated for real. (It was set up after the tsunami debacle.) Good to see everything works.

Actually, there had been a SNAM exercise drill in KRN just the previous weekend, so I guess the techs are getting a bit tired of shifting seats around...
