Advice on Danish company policy and EB

Hi all,

As some of you know I work for a large multinational Danish company whose travel policy is that EB miles earned on business trips must be used for business purposes and not for private trips. I knew this on joining and this is not a problem as I use the points for upgrading to a higher class of service, and are compensated in other ways.

However, the workplace 'lawyer' is now demanding that I provide him and the travel agent with;

1. My personal pincode
2. Change my mail address to c/o the travl agent so I will no longer receiver any mailing from SAS.
3. That I spend the time to justify which flights are private when I use my 'work SAS account' as he calls it. Note my SAS account was created long before I joined.

60-70% of my travel is private and as an EBG I do get a number of mails that are private and do not wnat floating around the company, not to mention the hassle of having privately paid tickets delivered to the work travel agent and delays and losses.

My question is apart from telling people to 'get stuffed!' is there anything I can stand on here in terms of privacy laws (EU or Danish) or in terms of SAS rules.

The only one I can find in the incredibly small SAS terms and conditions is 1.3 that states that post should be addressed to the person and not go through a third party, and absolutely nothing about the security of the pincode.

Any assistance here greatfully offered, as I do not wish my agent to use miles that I would and can use for upgrades for 20,000 miles flights CPH/HAM/CPH etc etc. This is not a good use of miles, in any way shape or form.

Or is this a Danish company thing, it always aamzes me the penny pinching of some companies.

Yes I know I probably have better things to worry about at work

Mark

If nobody here can give you a useful answer, try posting your question in the usenet group dk.videnskab.jura. This is where the Danish legal specialists hang out.

Would not collecting business miles on SK prevent you from getting EBG? Otherwise there would be no point in dealing with this BS.

Is it possible to create two accounts for the same person?

I think your employer, esp this particular ........, is being completely unreasonable. Try to offer special accounting on a spreadsheet with your business trips and earned miles that you will fwd to them on a monthly basis.

Let's assume that you charge business expenses to your credit card. Would you want to allow accounting to have online access to your personal credit card?
