Economy plus on 340s

The economy plus on the new A340s is really nice compared to coach. Got a operational upgrade into them a few days ago. Are these just reserved for Eurobonus members or do you need a higher ticket fare to qualify.

United 1Ks obviously need not apply.....

You need a special fare to go with Economy extra, it is booked in Y-class.

Thanks - so you don't need to be a EuroBonus member?

You can get economy extra seat by (a) buying a full fare coach ticket (Y class), (b) upgrading with EuroBonus points (10,000 per trans-Atlantic sector), (c) getting an operational upgrade if the economy is full (*G status is very helpful in this case), (d) doing something that I don't know of

Upgrading for 10000 EB-points from M-Y only works to Scandinavia, not from Scandinavia.
