Termination of Code Share Agreement

The codeshare agreement with SK and TG will cease on the 27th of October.

Can anyone explain why and what will happen now? Is this a sign that TG are looking elsewhere(outside of Star)?

kempis, are you really sure. I just made a search for november on www.sas.dk and the TG flight is still showed with a SK number.

My view is;
SAS is desperately looking for ways to increase revenue/profitability, and their CPH-BKK/SIN route is as far as I know - one of the best revenue-generating one.

My idea is that SAS does not gain too much from having code-share with TG. I think they want to try to fill up their 340's which have much higher capacity than the old 767.

TG is also quite aggressive - both increasing frequency and using large 747-400 aircrafts.

And they sell "Consolidator-tickets" in the Scandinavian market. I can imagine SAS with their "Rule the Scandinavian Market-philosophy" does not like their aggressivness.

I would guess (if the termination of code-share is correct) that it is something that SAS has initiated.

Again, just my personal ideas.

It seems like the change is no TG codeshare on the SK operated flight.

Recently I noticed that the SK flight to BKK and SIN it not daily anymore, but 6x a week.

So they have trouble filling the seats. This is another sign for me that SK is not happy in *A.

Recently the story that they are happier code-sharing with CO to US.
Now no more sharing with TG.
Where will it end?

SK's product to BKK is the best. Way better the TG. TG can fly cheaper and has nice old 747's.
Code-sharing with then sounds like a stupid thing to do in the first place.

Only if you jointly operate a route like LH does will you win this battle.

I didn't know that, but is the CPH-BKK frequency x7 ?? Do they have a plane standing still in BKK one day ??

The reason why BKK-SIN is only 6 times a week was that they needed the aircraft on CPH-BJS which is now daily service.

No, it's 6 days a week. No CPH-BKK-SIN flights on Tuesdays.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 6:25 pm.
