standby on Blue1

I am flying Paris to Helsinki in May on Blue1 on the late evening flight that arrives at 1am. I will be at the airport in Paris starting at around noon to see off another friend. Is there any way I can standby for the an earlier flight without fees? Its a Blue1 flight with an SAS flight number....don't know how that figures in. If I can't....I think Ill end up sleeping in the Helsinki airport because the last bus leaves around 1 for Helsinki. Any ideas?

Stand-by on which flight?! KF only flies from CDG to HEL every second day, with the same inconvenient schedule for all flights, AFAIK. Besides, if you have a cheap ticket, there's very little chance they would allow you to switch to an earlier flight anyway (unless, perhaps, in a hypothetical situation that the later flight were overbooked...)

For the bus, indeed, the last departure for 615 metropolitan bus is 1:05 and for Finnair bus 1:10. You could try to get a shared Airport van taxi, don't remeber the company name, but they've got a stand right next to the baggage hall exit; to the right.

Ha, well I guess my question was if the fact that the flight was purchased as a SAS codeshare would let me take an earlier flight on SAS, but I guess not, let alone the fact that SAS doesn't fly to Helsinki from Paris nonstop....

Alas....I think I shall spend the night in the airport, thanks!

Have you got another flight early next morning, or you just want to save the taxi fee? There is, actually, another option to get to Helsinki with the public transport cost (3.80 EUR, I think):

Take a 15-minute ride on bus 61 from the airport to Tikkurila at 1:40, where you can switch to train that takes you to Helsinki in 20 minutes. You can use the YTV Journey Planner (http://aikataulut.ytv.fi/reittiopas/en/) to find the exact schedules and transfer options.

ETA: sorry, I think the train only goes on weekends...

This is probably the company: http://www.yellowline.fi/airporttaxi_eng.html
Why not check with your fellow passengers: most likely some of them might also be heading down town Helsinki, so you could share a taxi with them?

Thanks for your advice guys. Its saving on taxi and on lodging that I'm concerned about. The hostel I was thinking of staying at that night is full anyhow, and I don't want to have to pay much to get to downtown Helsinki. So I may just end up staying in the airport to save some euros. I prolly wouldn't arrive at the hotel until 2am anyhow....Ill have to think about it.
