I am a big fan of CPH - but SGS at CPH..... I do not have the words. I wish SAS would outsource it and get rid of them all.

I agree. They should be able to do upgrades on points for PAX connecting from OSL/ARN if PAX put in a request at check in.

They just don't.

BTW, if there are 280 PAX, they have a problem :D

It could partly be a cultural thing. As long as you don't have to battle for bag storage space then there is no reason for boarding early. In the US the "elite" and F class passengers scramble to get on first. The US business traveller usually has large bags, so pre-boarding is viewed as an essential benefit. When I go for daytrips it is quite pleasant to let them jostle for their overhead space and then just board in the last minute.

On a longhaul flight in a premium cabin then there is generally no reason to board early. I think in the good old days (70s and 80s) SAS would board economy and then business, IIRC.

That is what Virgin does, it is actually recommended only to leave the ClubHouse when they call your flight inside the ClubHouse. It is done only when gate is ready for the Upper Class and Elite passengers (ready = all the others already on board).

My preference is to board at my convenience. Sometimes I stay in the lounge, other times I walk about shopping, having a bigger meal than at the lounge etc. What I hate is queues. So I want to skip the queue and get going. :) Hence priority boarding is a nice perk the few places it works.

One that does is KLM (but not Air France!!!) in OSL, where there is a separate line for elites, and it is open throughout the boarding process.
